Drink of the Week
Mint Tea
I discovered this drink on my Cameroon backpacking trip with Naidrenalin Adventures in December 2019. It was a lifesaver on chilly Mount Cameroon! It is one of the high points of the trip.
I make mint tea using WikiHow’s recipe. I prefer the peppermint variant because of the menthol content. I have found that the tea helps soothe tummy aches and freshens my breath.
Please share in the comments if you have ever had a cup of mint tea and if you liked it.
Musical of the Week
I grew up on this movie. It’s a 1964 movie about a flower seller’s journey to improve her lot in life through elocution lessons from a phonetics expert. I love it so much that I have downloaded the movie over and over again each time my external hard drive has crashed. The movie won eight Academy Awards!
I currently have four of my favourite songs – “Wouldn’t it Be Loverly”, “The Rain in Spain”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “Get Me to the Church On Time” in my Movie Soundtracks playlist on Apple Music. Do check my post, Apple Music on Android – A Startling and Euphoric Finding to learn why Apple Music is my go-to music app.

Podcast Episode of the Week
QAnon’s “Queen of Canada” is organizing harassment on streets across the country
by The Big Story
A fascinating episode on how ridiculous conspiracy theories can get out of hand when imbibed as true.
YouTube Video of the Week
Chrissy Teigen apologises for online bullying
by The Daily Show with Trevor Noah
The summary of the video is that your digital footprint matters! Instead of being vitriolic online, you can opt to use compassionate and thoughtful words to make your point known. Hurting people through cruel or critical words on social media will not make you feel better about yourself.
The golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, fittingly sums it up.

Defined by CFI as, “the process of reducing the size or quantity of a product while the price of the product remains the same or slightly increases.” The term is a blend of the words shrink and inflation.

Mint tea, mint tea. Just thinking about it calms me down some.
‘My fair lady’, I so love the movie. That’s one of the top movies in my classics movie collection.
Yes O! Mint tea deserves more hype!
Lovely to read your comment about My Fair Lady. IBM, you’re one of the very few people I’ve met that know the movie.
Lord, I don’t think I can ever forget that mint tea! I only stopped drinking cos I felt I was being too greedy. 😅😅 Would definitely check out that recipe.
The 1960’s movie I remember is “Hello Dolly”.
Shrinkflation makes me think of the Red Oaks Plantain chips. 😭
Hello Temi😊,
Drinking that hot Mint tea on freezing Mount Cameroon was so wonderful! Mint tea came to the rescue!🤗♥️
I haven’t watched “Hello, Dolly!”. Just skimmed through the plot summary on Wikipedia.
I’ll add “Cheese Balls” and “Burger Peanuts Snack” to the Shrinkflation list.
I take tea at least twice a day even in hot weather, it’s my remedy any day. I enjoy mint tea especially with menthol like you said. I wonder why the major tea brand in Nigeria, Lipton, haven’t introduced it to the market.
Hello Blades😊
Help me ask them! In fact, we should sell the idea to Lipton.
I’m not a tea person but mint tea will always be the exception.
There are some tea brands that sell mint tea, but even though it has a bit of the aroma, it is nowhere close to fresh mint tea.
Oh and I also drink tea whatever the weather 😁😁, I believe tea’s job is unique irrespective of the weather.
I went to a supermarket recently and saw Tetley’s Mint tea blend for sale. I smiled when I saw it.
Nothing compares to brewing the fresh mint leaves but where unavailable, I guess one would have to make do with the packaged type.
