I dearly love cartoons and animations to date

Animation version of Eli

I took it as a fabulous compliment when I heard that I act like a cartoon character. But it makes me wonder if my fondness for cartoons and animations is now being displayed as cartoonish quirks.

Let me give you proper context. I grew up watching Sesame Street, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Cartoon Network, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, The Simpsons, and so much more. As I grew older, I moved on to full length animated movies such as Lion King, Hercules, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Aladdin, Tangled, Despicable Me, Trolls, The Boss Baby, The Lego Movie, Sing, The Secret Life of Pets, Moana, Frozen. I can go on and on…

Here’s more, I had an entire animated movies collection on my external hard drive before it crashed. Furthermore, I have a Cartoon Tunes playlist of 121 songs from many cartoon soundtracks on Apple Music. Do check out my post, Apple Music on Android – A Startling and Euphoric Finding to find out why I absolutely love the Apple Music app.

I was all smiles at the theatre when I saw the trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy which has the Looney Tunes gang. If you’re like me and would love to watch the movie, click the link below to pre-order it from Amazon.

It is presumably a foregone conclusion from the above that I have cartoons and animations in my DNA. And it may manifest in quirky cartoonish mannerisms from time to time.

5 Intriguing Cartoons and Animations Trivia

It would be remiss of me to close out this post without mentioning some riveting facts about cartoons/animations:

  3. Toy Story is the first feature-length film fully modelled and created with the help of 3D technology. Culled from 10 Interesting Facts about Animation.
  4. Disney’s Tangled with a production budget of about $260 million tops the list of the most expensive animated film ever made. It cost so much because it was the first animated film created using 3D CG animation. Culled from 25 Most Expensive Animated Movies Ever Made (And How Much They Cost).
  5. Cinderella Complex – Cinderella appears to have a complex named after her. In the article, 5 Psychological Conditions Named for Disney Characters, “a person, typically a woman, with Cinderella Complex is very dependent on men for emotional and financial purposes.” It also refers to a condition where a woman fears true independence and secretly desires a Prince Charming to come along and take care of her. The condition gained public attention from Collette Downing’s book, The Cinderella Complex: Women’s Hidden Fear of Independence. Please note that this is not an officially recognized psychological disorder.

  1. I’m not even going to hide, I’m such a Disney fan. I don’t even need a kid around to serve as an excuse to watch a Disney animation. 😆

  2. Awwwww. You know I love cartoons and animations and you’re always the one to introduce me to the trending ones. I also enjoy how much passion you put into every detail you provide. Never heard of Cinderella complex until today.
So much to thank you for 🥰

  3. I like to watch cartoons too but I prefer movies. My siblings watch a lot of cartoons even as adults. What I like about cartoons is that it makes me laugh more and reminds me of the times when I watched cartoons as a kid.
