Period Tracker, My Calendar App

The Period Tracker is a period calendar app created by Simple Design Ltd. It helps you track your periods and menstrual cycles, calculate your ovulation, as well as predict your fertile days. Read more about periods in the post, Menstruation…A Cross to Bear or A Unique Gift.

It also aids women who want to conceive and those trying contraceptives. See the article, Is Sterilization the Right Contraception for Me? which deals with permanent contraceptives. As of the date of this post, it had over 100 million downloads on the Play Store and a 4.9 rating from over 5 million reviews.

I have been using this app since May 2018 and I know this because I checked the app’s Log feature. The app is my personal period diary which I have faithfully kept up to date. I switched to the app when manually tracking my period on paper proved to be inefficient and burdensome.

Here’s why I have been using the app for over 3 years.

  1. Plan. The app allows me to make plans as I can predict when the next flow ought to arrive several months ahead. It lets me know my window of opportunity to buy sanitary pads for my flow and painkillers for my menstrual cramps.
  2. Non-intrusive ads. Some free apps contain pop-up ads which can be very intrusive and annoying. Period Tracker app does not fall into this category as the ads are well placed and not a nuisance.
  3. Periods at a glance. The Log feature allows me to view my past period and cycle lengths, and even future predictions, on the spot.
  4. Easy to use. The app is simple to use and navigate. It shows the number of days left till your next period or indicates how many days it is late. Also, it has a beautiful pet that you tap when your period starts and ends.
  5. Cute little pets. There are adorable pets that you tap when your period starts and ends. There are several options to choose from. Do note that to unlock a new pet you must watch a 30-second ad.

How do you track your periods? On paper, a calendar, an app? Please share in the comments section.

  1. I use the same. I also like that it backs up online and when switching phones, transferring info is seamless. I do have a problem with its notifications though.

    1. Very helpful features.
I also have issues with the notifications so I “jejely” check the app to confirm when’s my next period.

  2. I use it too. Awesome app. Thanks for letting me know about the option for different pets☺️
